A cardiologist uses a probe to send ultrasound waves to the heart to delineate the structures. It is a dynamic scan of the heart.
What does the 2D echo test detect?
- Any underlying heart diseases or irregularity.
- Congenital heart diseases and blood clots and tumors.
- Malfunctioning of the heart valve.
- Irregularity of blood flow within the heart
- An echocardiogram may also be done to assess the heart’s overall function and general structure.
